Florida man arrested for domestic violence

Those who have been accused of domestic violence know just how frightening and nightmarish such an incident can be. Even well after the incident, those charged may fear undue punishment, judgment and realize greater conflict among their loved ones. Fortunately, the law takes domestic violence cases very seriously, but that means that those accused can often expect authorities to make quick decisions based upon hearsay, high emotions and little fact. This may have been the case recently in Deerfield Beach.

According to official reports, a man forcibly entered his girlfriend’s home and aimed a gun at her early in the afternoon, about 1:30 p.m.. She called 911, and when the officials arrived, the alleged aggressor fled to another house, frightening the three inhabitants away, and hid away inside. SWAT finally found the man in a hole in the wall after searching the house thoroughly, at which point he was arrested just before 9 p.m., more than seven hours after his girlfriend called the police.

Cases like these are traumatizing to the victims, and it is important to remember that domestic violence is a real and serious threat that many people suffer from on a daily basis. However, it is also important to remember that individuals who are accused of domestic violence suffer from the accusations. Some individuals are wrongfully accused in domestic violence cases, and even if they are found innocent, social perception does not necessarily change.

If you have been accused of domestic violence, it is imperative that you act immediately in your defense. Being convicted of domestic violence can mean more than just fines or jail time, it can upset the balance of your entire life. You may suddenly find yourself unable to live in your home, and you could be kept from seeing your children.
