Florida woman accused of murdering parents

On Behalf of | Aug 27, 2015 | Violent Crimes |

If you are facing homicide or murder charges, you do not need to be told how serious your situation is; nearly everyone in the United States is aware of the serious legal consequences of a murder conviction. However, it may help you to hear that no matter what the circumstances of your case, you may benefit from legal assistance and representation. There are many different defense options that accused individuals can take advantage of, no matter how the odds may seem stacked against you.

Recently in Florida, police responded to several reports of shots being fired in Hillsborough County. When police arrived at the scene, they found two victims who were fatally wounded by gunshots: a woman in the driveway and a man inside the house. Police suspected the couple’s daughter, whom they found in Tallahassee. Officials claimed that they collected enough information to charge the woman, who is now facing first-degree murder charges.

Florida residents may find themselves in similar circumstances, especially if people close to them are murdered. While it can be extremely emotionally trying to lose a loved one in such a way, it is important that you remain as calm and collected as possible if you are suspected, and that you contact an attorney as soon as possible. The sooner you are able to contact an attorney, the less likely you are to accidentally incriminate yourself or reveal crucial information.

In addition to these benefits, enlisting the aid of an attorney can also help you begin building a defense case to prove your innocence. Important details can include eyewitness reports, alibis or proof that you were not at the scene of the crime. Even if the evidence is stacked against you, an attorney can help you reduce your sentence or receive a plea bargain. If you are facing murder charges, do not hesitate to contact an attorney.
